about
Maiden Lane does not sound like the Grateful Dead...despite the fact that Grahame was raised by the dancing bear man. He formed Maiden Lane to woo Brodie, who had recently abandoned a country music deal with Capitol Nashville in order to "learn things”. Soon Mac and Eric emerged from the seedy depths of the Palo Alto jazz scene, and it was love at first note. No, seriously. Mac and Brodie dated for a while.
Since the beginning, Maiden Lane’s boys have honed their craft around Brodie’s vocals, relying on melodic guitars and a driving back line to fuel Brodie’s passionate fits of expression. “The first time I heard her scream, I called 911”, admits Grahame. As San Francisco natives, they have played venues throughout the Bay Area, including Slim’s, the Independent, the Boom Boom Room, the Rickshaw Stop and the Fox Theater in Oakland. They are known for their aggressive live shows and prolific song writing.
